With an F rating from the BBB resulting from 25 complaints in the past 3 years, 9 ripoff reports, and 1 complaint with the BCA, U.S. Money reserve certainly has its reputation flaws. The majority of the BBB complaints were related to problems with their products/services or advertising and sales issues. Aside from these blemishes, the State of Texas Office of the Attorney General made several allegations against the business (which is also known as US Rare Coin) based on numerous consumer reports, including that the company had “heavily advertised” $5 American Gold Eagle bullion coins in print and on television, but when customers called regarding these advertisements, US Rare Coin attempted to sell them the more costly commemorative or proof versions of those coins instead.

Update: we spoke to one of the company's representative in February 2015 who assured us that all complaints have been closed to the satisfaction of the client. He claims that the USMR has resolved every complaint to the satisfaction of our clients, some of whom still do business with the company. However the BBB has failed to credit the company for those efforts. Further, USMR has received only 5 complaints in the last year, all closed successfully. Still, the BBB makes no change to their grade.

The company also notes its recognition by the RipOff Report Corporate Advocacy Program as a Safe Business due to “its commitment to excellence in customer service.

I agree with Dan. This resource needs to be updated in order to be accurate. If you click through the rating links, the ratings are different than the ones stipulated on this page. Looks like the BBB rating is now an A+ and there are actually compliments on the company’s BBB page.
