The business was founded back in 1965 and currently specializes in the sale of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion coins and bars. In addition to bullion, A-Mark also offers a variety of financial services, including consignment and hedging. The company makes its own active two-way market that operates even while most major commodity markets are closed. According to their ‘About Us' page, they have the largest precious metals dealer network in North America, with customers that include refiners, jewelers, collectors, investors, manufacturers and virtually every other client type.

About the Management

A-Mark Precious Metals is a subsidiary of Spectrum Group International, Inc. Not much is listed about the management staff of A-Mark Precious Metals or their parent company Spectrum International on either of their official websites. However, according to a press release, the CEO of both companies is Greg Roberts, while the Managing Director of Structured Products at A-Mark as of 2013 is Craig Tuckman.

A-Mark Precious Metals offers a modest selection of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion bars and coins. Their gold catalog currently includes 6 main products – American Gold Eagles, Canadian Gold Maple Leafs, South African Krugerrands, Swiss 20 Francs, and Sovereign King gold coins, as well as 1 oz. Credit Suisse Bars. They base their prices on the live spot price and they also have a graph that shows the Spot Prices History over the past year. As far as precious metals IRAs are concerned, according to the 7th term under the Terms and Conditions, they refer clients who wish to purchase gold for IRAs to two IRA custodians: American Church Trust Company and Sterling Trust Company. Both of these custodians charge their own unique annual storage/admin fees, which directly influence the cost of storing your gold in one of their IRAs.
